Policies and Procedures
Fees
Fees are expected at the time of your session. The initial consultation is one hour and a half and the cost is $200.00. Thereafter, sessions typically run an hour, unless otherwise specified, and the cost is $150.00. Payment may be made in cash, check or money order. For phone sessions, payment must be made by money order and must be received a minimum of 48 hours prior to the session. If a session falls on a Monday, payment must be received by the Friday prior to the session.
If you wish to file a claim with your insurance company, I will provide a statement for services provided, so that you may be reimbursed.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made a full 48 hours in advance. For example, if you have an appointment on Wednesday at 10 a.m., you must cancel by 10 a.m. on the Monday prior.
Monday appointments must be cancelled by the previous Friday. Since it is rarely possible to fill appointments cancelled on short notice, you will be expected to assume financial responsibility for a late cancellation.
Exceptions may be made for emergencies. An emergency will be a death or catastrophic event. An emergency is not that you had to work late or have a friend visiting and don’t feel like coming to session. This policy is designed to help us both: for me so that I don’t lose income and for you in that a missed appointment can be a way of avoiding challenging places in therapy. It is often these times when one feels resistance to coming to therapy that the most powerful work is done.
Appointments
Appointments will start on time and run for the allotted time. An appointment will not be extended if the client arrives late. If in the event that a session starts late due to a clinical emergency, the full length of the session will be provided.
Telephone
Calls will be returned at the end of the day. Prolonged phone conversations will be billable as therapy sessions.
